Luiggy Santiago is a Latin Grammy-nominated, touring musician, playback programmer, and musical director. Luiggy's use of iConnectivity interfaces caught our eye across social media; we're always excited to see how artists, engineers and musicians are using our equipment.

Luiggy was kind enough to take a few moments from his busy work schedule to answer a few questions for us.

Luiggy! Thanks for taking the time to talk to us. What was it that attracted you to iConnectivity interfaces, and what do you like about them?

They are compact, versatile and very well constructed with lots of options including integration with iOS devices like the iPad, to name a few.

What features make iConnectivity interfaces so attractive to you, as a professional musician, arranger and playback programmer?

Let’s start with the iConnectAudio2+. I use it at home, for small gigs and for church services. It's great for playing with iPad apps and in use with my music notation software.
I'm a big fan of the mio4 MIDI interface; the mio4 allows me to integrate all my hardware stuff like my keyboards through regular DIN MIDI ports.
The mio4 also allows me to send MIDI data over long distances thanks to the Ethernet RTP-MIDI functionality of the mio4; it's great for sending MIDI CC or MIDI Beat Clock across the stage.

Out of all the interfaces in the iConnectivity range, which one would you say is your favourite?

The PlayAUDIO12 is my favourite, definitely! PlayAUDIO12 has opened up lots of possibilities to me; I use it extensively when building redundant Audio/MIDI systems for live use.
When you're playing live, things happen when you least expect it! The last thing you want to see is a computer or software crash during a show. When you are in front a lot of people on a show you don’t have the time, even 60 seconds, to solve the problem or restart the system.

What is it about the PlayAUDIO12 you like so much?

I love how compact it is! Just a single, half-rack interface, can replace a huge traditional playback system and can be used with 2 computers at the same time. I love the front mounted USB host port, which allows me to feed up to 8 devices on their own MIDI ports.
My PlayAudio12 is enough to run big shows which require a large number of tracks, yet it is very portable and above all, I trust it to be reliable!
